High court in Narok uphold the election of Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ngeno

The High Court in Narok has validated the election of Johanna Ngeno as Emurua Dikirr MP.

High Court judge  dismissed a petition by David Keter who was on jubilee Ticket, one of the candidate during the August 8 general election.

Mr. KETER wanted the elections nullified on grounds that it was marred by irregularities and illegalities and voters were coerced to vote against their will. He said there were many cases of bribery, violence and intimidation.

But in his three-hour ruling, High court judge ruled that the MP was validly elected and the elections were held in a credible manner and in compliance of the constitution.

“The petitioner did not submit sufficient evidence. No evidence of such deliberate intimidation & violence. The petitioner’s application has no merit and is hereby dismissed,” said the judge.

The petitioner was slapped with KES 3M suit cost.
