GOVERNOR Tunai stepped in with county commissioner to stop inter- clans fight in Narok South.

Today Narok Governor held a crucial meeting with the Narok County Commissioner Samuel Kimiti, Narok South leaders comprising of the MP Hon. Lemein and MCAs, to find a lasting solution to the incessant inter- clan conflicts that continue to rock and destabilize Lulunga and it's neighborhood. 

The recent clashes have left six (6) people dead with 13 others injured and more than ten (10) households razed down through arson attack. 
The county leadership has resolved to put a police unit in the area; and are immediately starting major improvements of road networks in the area. 

There will be increased vigilance in the area through security teams and local community leaders in affected areas of Olposimoru, Narok North sub county and Oloshapani location. 

GOVERNOR have appealed to local politicians to avoid making inflammatory remarks that can be construed as aimed at stirring violence.

Narok Baptist Church senior pastor Rev. Sam Moonka will be hosted by Radio Citizen' Syombua Osiany in the morning show from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd May 2020 from 4am to 6am.

The man of God will be preaching a powerful sermon with an uplifting theme
"USIOGOPE MUNGU AKO NAWE"
Rev Moonka has been using better of his time to preach the word of God from his Social media official accounts to preach "Live" from the time the Pandemic novel Coronavirus hit our continent and indeed our beloved country.

Rev.Moonka has not been left out as man of God and great spiritual leader in donating essentials like foodstuffs to the needy badly hitted by worldwide Pandemic and others who have been displaced from the Ongoing floods distruction. Lately he has extend his hand to the needy by donating foodstuffs to Narok County Government to distribute to the most affected in the county.

On fear, Reverend Moonka said that God is our way and he is with us.

"We might still feel afraid, but we can believe that God is with us. We may not be in control, but we can trust the One who is. We may not know the future, but we can know the God who does." Says Rev.Sam Moonka

NAROK COUNTY TO BEGIN COVID-19 TESTINGS.

The County Government  of Narok yesterday received 400 Covid-19 testing kits from the national government – and will from today begin testing of all the people currently in quarantine as well as health workers and security personnel. 

The testing kits were distributed to the six sub-counties this morning. 
The testing was ordered yesterday by Governor Samuel Ole Tunai when he announced the arrival of the 400 kits from the National Public Health Laboratory in Nairobi.

Governor Tunai also directed that people who live close to the Tanzania border, especially those known to be frequent travellers into Tanzania, will get priority in testing. He highlighted Olpusimoru and Olderkesi in Narok West, Mausa, Olemesutie and Ilkerin in Loita, and Angata and Mashangwa in Transmara West as the areas most exposed to infections from across the border. 
 
Speaking to the media yesterday, Governor Tunai also announced that the county government was working with the national government in rolling out special measures in the border areas, including  priority testing, increased surveillance and restriction of movement across the border.

President Uhuru Kenyatta announces closure of Tanzania and Somalia borders, Extends curfew for another 21 days.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday extended the nationwide dusk-to-dawn curfew by 21 more days in a bid to tame the spread of the coronavirus as the country recorded 49 new cases.

According to President Kenyatta, who spoke while addressing the nation at State House in Nairobi, the 7pm to 5am curfew will now end on June 6, 2020.

Kenya records 49 new coronavirus cases bringing national tally to 830; 5 more patients succumb to the virus, total death now stands at 50. - 

The President also announces the closure of Kenya, Tanzania and Somalia border closed, except for cargo transit.

Also was the Cessation of movement in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale & Mandera extended to 5th of June.

14 more Kenyans contract Covid-19May 8, 2020 raising positive cases to 621


Kenya's total number of confirmed cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus disease rose to 621 on Friday, with the announcement of 14 more positive test results.

Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Rashid Aman said all the new patients were Kenyans and that 10 were from Nairobi.

He said Mombasa accounted for three of the cases and that Machakos County had recorded its first case of the disease.

The new cases were recorded following the testing of 922 samples in the last 24 hours.

Dr Aman also announced that five more patients had been discharged after testing negative, raising Kenya's total number

ODM kicked out Narok Senator Ledama ole Kina from two key senate committees.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has kicked out Narok Senator Ledama ole Kina from two key senate committees.

Through a notice dated May 6, 2020  by Senate Minority leader James Orengo, Ledama has been discharged from the County Public Accounts and Investments (CPAIC) House Business Committee.

“In accordance with the Senate Standing Order 190, I hereby give notice of the discharge and removal of Senator Ledama Ole Kina from the County Public Accounts and Investment Committee and the Senate Business Committee,” reads the notice.

Governor Tunai Unveils a Standing Committee to resolve Nkararo-Enoosaen boarder conflict, Archbishop Sapit & several Bishops included

Today GOVERNOR Samuel Ole Tunai , Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit  & Bishop Dr. Peter S Ole Nakola and COUNTY Commissioner held a committee Peace Meeting on Siria & Uasin Ngishu recurring Clashes.

The general formation of this committee headed by the Anglican Church Kenya’s Archbishop Dr. Jackson Ole Sapit and Bishop Peter Nakola together with 5 other bishops selected, is aimed at sustaining the initiated peace agreement between the Uasi Ngishu and the Siria clans, which have for so long been on conflict. 

The committee committed to see the two clans live side-by-side in peace, and enjoy what neighborly communities do – engage in trade and other social interests. 

This will be a standing joint committee that will remain in place to help deal with all the issues that have always led to conflicts between the two clans. 

Governor Ole Lenku of Kajiado sent his apologies, and missed the meeting owing to some official engagements.

Kenya records 47 new Covid-19 cases rising total number of Covid19 cases to 582


Kenya has hit another record high in terms of the number of coronavirus cases recorded daily, reporting 47 more positive test results on Wednesday.

The Health ministry said 32 of the new cases were recorded in Mombasa, 11 in Nairobi, two in Busia and one each in Kiambu and Kwale.

While announcing a total of 582 confirmed cases since Kenya's first case on March 13, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said two more people had died, raising the death toll to 26.

He said the two people died at their homes in Mombasa.

The CS also reported that eight more people had been discharged, raising the country's total number of recoveries to 190.

NAROK GOVERNOR Samuel Ole Tunai URGES RESIDENTS ALONG TANZANIA BORDER TO BE MORE VIGILANT ON COVID19



Following a drastic increase in confirmed cases of Covid-19 in neighbouring Tanzania, Governor Samuel Kuntai Ole Tunai has urged residents of Narok County living along the Kenyan – Tanzania border to remain vigilant. 

The three Sub-Counties of Narok West, Narok South and Trans-Mara West that border Tanzania are in increased danger of infection because of a long porous border with free movement of people across the two countries.  

In his regular update to the people of Narok’ on the County Government’s progress in preparedness against the Corona virus pandemic in the County, Governor Tunai cited the recent uptick of infections in Tanzania and the increase of cross-border trade in livestock and foodstuff in the three Sub-Counties as the new risk factors for the County. 

He called on residents of the three Sub-Counties to take extra caution in their interaction with their Tanzania counter and where practical, to avoid all contact. 

The Governor also revealed that he has requested the National Government to beef up security in the border areas and temporarily restrict movement of people across the border. The County Government will also take additional measures at the border areas, including beefing up health facilities and sensitizing residents on community surveillance. 

“There is need for rapid sensitization on the role of the general public in reporting strangers crossing the border to authorities as soon as possible,” said the Governor. “This will bolster security efforts to secure the borders and what people must know is that these measures are meant to shield them from exposure to the virus.”
